Shannon Shepherd

Shannon Shepherd was born in Port Alberni and now lives in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Shannon began working with stained glass in 1999, her first projects being lamp shades. Stained glass soon became her passion, her outlet for growth and imagination. Shannon loves the sparkling and reflective qualities in glass. The many design possibilities, the wide variety of colours and types of glass, all offer boundless avenues of expression.
Two years after taking her first workshop in stained glass, Shannon explored a course in fused glass. New inspiration came with this new medium. "I was in heaven. I still am." More recently she took a course in flameworking - making glass beads and jewellery. Shannon creates in her Nanaimo studio home. The glass world is Shannon's big love and she remains deeply passionate about this form of artistic expression as she continues to create wonderful shards of light.
