Bio

Ted Arnold worked in the forest industry on Vancouver Island for almost thirty-five years. Ted kept thinking he could do more with the wood that he loved so much, and eventually tried his hand at carving. This became his passion. He loves nothing more than to take a piece of burl, start carving and let the wood talk to him.

Ted is now retired and spends his spare time carving these wonderful works of art. Because every piece is hand-carved, no two are alike. No lathe is used in the making of his free-form bowls.

All of Ted’s wood bowls and dishes are very time consuming; most larger pieces take around seventy to eighty hours to create.
