"With knots, holes, and fungi, the wood dictates what a carver can remove, when he is shaping a free form hand carved bowl, " says wood carver Courtney Powell.   Characterized with bird's eye burl wood grain and the rich golden colour of old growth yellow cedar, this is a large sculptured bowl that brings attention to its natural beauty and size.  The bowl has been carved from a burl that measured over 2' wide and grew on an Old Growth Yellow cedar tree that was from 700-800 years old.
