Lucky Slug #1

"The Lucky Slugs are a continuation of my Lucky Fish series. Both are inspired by our local brew of choice (Lucky Beer) and are a bit of a satire on the lucky aspect of their interaction with beer." -Shannon McWhinney

Pacific Banana Slugs are native to the coastal rainforests of Vancouver Island. Banana slugs are usually yellow, some with brown spots like a banana. Other colour variations are black, green, brown and white with black spots. These animals can grow to over 9 1/2" long and leave a slime trail wherever they go. Slugs have four tentacles; the top pair detects movement and light while the lower pair senses chemicals. Slugs seem to like lager. 'Lucky' brand has a dedicated Vancouver Island following among humans too, and not just slug-plagued gardeners!

'Lucky Slug #3' is the third mono print in a three print series.

Float matted in a single acid free white mat board with a brushed silver metal frame.
