"In our day and age where we can google at anytime, almost everywhere, looking up almost anything. It would be sad if people stopped looking for those wonderful surprises that nature has to offer.

'It would be a sad day if people stopped looking at whales'

Whales can symbolize many different things to different people. In my life I have had many dreams about whales and one meaning I have learned is that whale can represent a move of God. They are always there, hiding in the deep mysterious, surfacing every so often where we can delight and enjoy their presence.
In my painting, I have chosen to make the whales large and the human presence quite small, but very connected. The whales are always there as we carry on living and doing our lives. Sometimes we notice and sometimes not....and in this way too, it would be a sad day if people stopped looking for the whales."
