Raku Salamander On Wood Mount
The Salamander is fabled to have taught ancient man how to create and use fire. In turn it is fire that created this raku salamander. Like fire, salamanders are wild, lively, and energizing. The wild and lively colours produced by raku firing and post-firing reduction result in an energizing three dimensional sculpture with flowing movement and life-like detail by pottery artist Gale LaPorte of Errington, BC.
