Yellow Cedar Salmon
This is a hand carved and naturally stained yellow cedar Salmon, with Eagle heads carved into the body, by Snaw-naw-as First Nation artist and master carver Brian Bob. Circles of Abalone shell are inlaid into the tail and eyes of Salmon and Eagle. This work of art honours the Circular Way of Life: in this case, Salmon gives itself as food to Eagle. The spirit of the bird is already within the fish's being.
