Sea Urchin Beaded Embroidery Pendant
Sea Urchin shells are often found by beach combers along the Pacific shores of Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
Tofino Jewelry designer Tina Holden recreated a sculptured sea urchin shell. This piece is made from a casting in polymer clay from the artist made mold of the original sculpture. It is coloured with acrylic paint and sealed for protection.
The back of the pendant is a soft black suede from which beaded embroidery encircles the sides of the sea urchin shell, recreating sea urchin spines made of seed beads.
The necklace is black tube cording with a stainless steel cable insert and a copper lobster clasp with a 2" copper extension chain and signature hematite bead.
