Thunderbird Rattle
During potlatches of the Kwakwaka'wakw First Nation, a large Thunderbird rattle is used by attendants, during the red cedar bark parts of the dance. Thunderbird, a mythical creature, is carved in deep relief and hand painted by Kwakwaka'wakw Nation master carver and artist Cecil Dawson.
