This is a small lidded basket traditionally woven by Nuu-chah-nulth master weaver, Charlotte Carpenter. Charlotte inherited her grandmother's wooden molds that had been specially carved for shaping of the basket weaving.
The bog grasses were hand picked and dyed by Charlotte.
The pattern of whale with a sitting duck are two of Charlotte's signature designs.
