This moonsnail shell has a covering of hand-picked and dyed bog grass woven in traditional style by Nuu-chah-nulth master weaver, Charlotte Carpenter. Charlotte inherited her grandmother's specially carved cedar molds to form the various shapes and sizes of her baskets. She works in fine to medium weaving. The patterns of whale, sea otter, sitting duck and flying duck - her signature designs - are woven into the body of her work.
