Traditional Woven Cedar Bark - Hat
This cedar bark hat was woven using traditional methods by Nuu-chah-nulth master weaver Charlotte Carpenter. Charlotte gathers and prepares the cedar strips, then utilizes a double weave pattern and attaches a cedar bark woven head band to the hat's inside, in traditional fashion. To hold the hat in place, there is a black cotton cord embellished with glass beads of blue and red, plus a brass bead. To tighten the cord, there is an adjustable black plastic stopper.
