Spiral and wave designs have been art themes throughout many cultures and history.  Potter Gail Carlson created this shape by draping a flat piece of clay over a large stone. The rounded bottom rests on four feet, each with holes, so the piece can be used as a hanging art piece. The design is hand carved and then inlaid with a white clay body. Coloured oxides stain and accent design elements of her signature classic wave design.
