Serenity from within smiles forth bringing to life a joy within the heart shaped carved face of "Rainforest Moment'. The old growth red cedar burl is first shaped on a lathe before being hand carved by wood carver and turner Courtney Powell. A peaceful, reflective face emerges as Courtney lets the energy of the tree come forth. The carved mask is set on a laminated red cedar base encircled with copper sheeting that has been treated with a home made patina in combination with sawdust to produce a signature pattern on the metal.
