Bio

Qualicum Beach artist Pauline Pike works mainly in watercolours, painting the local landscape from her continuous sketches. Working outdoors as well as in her home studio, The Sketchbook, Pauline finds that a west coast atmosphere offers constant challenges via mountains, sea, farmland and forest. She enjoys the misty qualities that watercolours produce so readily.

Originally from England, Pauline was raised in Edmonton, then moved to the Cariboo region of BC where she got her start in painting. After several workshops and years of painting she began to teach in colleges and hold workshops in watercolour painting, oils, acrylics and sketching for Eco Ventures (Elder Hostel) and on cruise ships.

She retired in 2011 after many years of instructing at the Old School House in Qualicum Beach and privately in her home studio.

Pauline's work has been collected throughout BC and Alberta, the US, Japan, Britain, Germany and Australia.
