Bio

Susan Schaefer was born in Saskatchewan. She began her passion for colour and art at an early age.

"As an artist, I am strongly inspired by colour, patterns, shapes and shadows. When I paint, I try to capture the feeling that inspired me; whether it was a mood, a combination of colours or a view. I hope to transfer that to the canvas so my viewer can enjoy it too."

Susan moved to Vancouver Island in 2007. With her graphic background she was able to establish The Island Arts Magazine, a quarterly publication to showcase west coast art. Now into it's 12th year, the magazine is well recognized.

She also enjoys organizing and attending artist workshops. She lives in Parksville, where she shares her passion for the arts by teaching classes.

Susan is a professional artist working mainly in acrylic paints. She finds inspiration in nature and from her passion for travel.
