Bio

Tineke Veenhoven creates wearable works of art while travelling and working in remote areas of the North American continent. She uses remnants and rejected materials for her creations, and promotes her rogue apparel, cougar hats and junk jewellery under the brand name Fatima Blush. She also paints, writes short stories, makes short movies and is a woodcarver.

Tineke Veenhoven began studying painting and drawing with Dutch painter Anton Buytendijk when she was fifteen years old. This exposure to abstract expressionism at an early age is still visible in her work today. Realistic at heart, her paintings represent captured moments in time, thrown on canvas as fast as they occur.

Transplantation of this European urbanite to the rugged west coast and the frigid north of Canada has influenced her subject matter and palette in painting and apparel, and has introduced her to other means of artistic expression: woodcarving and music video production.
