Artist Statement

"Being born and raised on the west coast of British Columbia has had a significant influence on my style and design. Throughout my life I have immersed myself in the coastlines, forests, mountains and cultures that make up the Pacific Northwest. I have always believed that an artists style is a direct reflection of the environment in which they choose to surround themselves. With my imagery I strive to interpret my environment with creations in glass, metal, wood, paint or print. Through my works I try to portray the intense beauty of what we have here on the west coast along with a reminder of what can easily be lost through neglect and abuse.
A lifetime of living in the Pacific Northwest has also given me a deep respect and admiration for the First Nations people of this reason and their arts, history and culture. This has allowed me, on many occasions, the opportunity to collaborate and work with a number of their artists, throughout British Columbia, Washington and Alaska. It is through these collaborations and my own works that I hope to inspire as to what it is that draws us to this diverse bioregion."
