Blowin' In The Wind

“'Spirit Trees', torn and twisted by the relentless winds of the Western Pacific storms, like rocks, have withstood the test of time. They stand in silent vigil over the remaining forests, adapting in their own way to the changes brought on by man and nature.  They serve to remind us of the resilience and strength of nature." - John McInnis  -

The rich  Brazilian soapstone colours take form, defining  sculptural composition.  With attention to detail sculptor John McInnis brings to life a majestic windswept west coast tree, carving one bough at a time . Six grits of sandpaper are used in the finishing process before the final wax and polishing application. The natural unpolished soapstone base, give contrast to the highly finished roots.
