In this box we have beautiful figured and spalted maple, with the "artist's hand" carved touch that accentuates the natural flow and grain of the wood. Mayne Island wood worker Robert Andrews lets the wood grain, colouring, and spalting dictate the shape, design, and form of each box. He never makes the same box twice. This box has been designed for a larger jewellery collection. It holds two brown velvet flock trays, one with 5 compartments, the largest being 7 1/4" x 5". The other tray contains four 7 1/2" long narrow compartments with seven smaller units for earrings and rings. The open lower compartment is lined in brown faux fur to protect your pieces. Robert has covered the outside bottom of the box with a soft leather for furniture protection.
