Mute Swan
Dan Steadman always wanted to carve a swan and capture that elegance in wood. First shaped with a chainsaw from aged red cedar, Dan then hand carved the finer feather details and head. The swan appears to be floating on the surface. The aged red cedar used for this carving was salvaged from a wind blown tree. The natural cedar colours revealed in the swan's body can be enjoyed from all angles on this three dimensional sculpture. The eyes and bill of the swan are hand painted.
