Whale Feather

The artist's main crest emblem is a supernatural feather. The artist uses the symbol of the feather, such as a feather from a Thunderbird. The years spent as a commercial fisherman merged both natural and supernatural worldviews of the artist, whether it's a salmon or a whale. On this hand carved  feather from yellow cedar, First Nation Kwakwaka'wakw artist and carver Cecil Dawson paints a whale.
