A beautiful finely carved eagle feather with painted eagle design, carved in old growth yellow cedar. The tight growth rings, or wood grain, enables master carver Victor Michael West to sculpt the wood to a thickness of under 1/16 of an inch in some areas on the back of the feather. This meticulous work defines the gentle contours and ridge of the feather's spine. The eagle design on the feather is painted in red iron oxide and amorphous carbon. It stands in a base of Western Red Cedar.
