About This Category
Symbol - transformation, intelligence, creativity, determination
Local Interest - Crows are more community oriented than Ravens, smaller in size and travel in flocks here on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Crows can trick an eagle out of its prey. The crows work together to annoy the eagle by going after its tail feathers. An eagle would rather leave its food behind than risk the loss of a tail feather. Ravens usually travel in pairs. Raven is an important totem figure for local First Nations. Local legends tell of Raven "stealing the light", or being a trickster to get his way via transformations.
