6' Gray Whale, Right
This impressive 6 ft. long, hand carved Gray Whale hanging sculpture is carved of western red cedar by Metchosin, BC artist, Norm Moyen. This wood carving is perfect for the feature wall with an ocean theme or west coast decor. The natural wood grain is enhanced using a burning and brushing technique creating a driftwood effect. An inlaid pebble is added for the whale's eye detail.
Norm Moyen and his wife have been whale-watching many times while visiting the area of Ucluelet and Tofino on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Gray whales migrate through the area every spring on their long journey from Mexico.
