A vibrant coloured pencil portrait of the Tofino, British Columbia wood carver, the late Henry Nola. This legenary west coast carver is portrayed carving a V groove line around the painted areas on an art panel. He uses his self forged carving tool with an antler handle to cut each line as he works on a large Raven Panel designed by First Nations artist and friend Roy Henry Vickers. Henry Nola was a mentor and an inspirational teacher over the years to many who came to visit him on Chesterman Beach. Many came to learn how to carve, most left with a deeper understanding of life.
