An earlier piece with initial influences from Coastal First Nations are visible in the ovoid form within the wave. The form is seen less in later paintings but the fundamental principles of balance and proportion that ovoids so beautifully demonstrate continue throughout Rika's work.

RIKA is an artist who's work focuses on the Pacific Northwest, his locations are beaches and breaks found along this wild and turbulent coast that are favored by surfers for their waves as well as places of special importance to himself. He hopes his art that his art will give these areas further value and appreciation and be a contributor in keeping them Wild, Protected and Free.
