The West Coast Story
"My mother grew up on Kootenay Lake just outside of Nelson, and I spent my childhood exploring this beautiful corner of B.C. I had my first days of skiing at Whitewater Ski Resort and those magic fluffy runs are still burnt in my mind. The pull from my mountain home was strong, and in 2012, I found myself in a packed car heading back to Nelson. I spent the next two years studying Forestry and most importantly re-discovering my love of the mountains. From snow shoes, I transitioned to a custom made split board built by my friends at Kindred Snowboards in Merville. I spent countless days re-living those vivid memories and exploring the back country around Whitewater Basin. I worshipped Ullr and he delivered awesome all-time storms. Even in-bounds there would be powder for days, something I had never experienced on the Island. On this particular day, I was shredding some waist deep champagne with a few friends and hitting a beauty little Cliff drop next to Sprouler's run. Another epic session, in a place that's been super close to my heart since I first slid down those slopes."
