The West Coast Story
"Finding freedom these days can mean many things: it’s a path that’s paved with practice, patience and an openness to understanding the processes that entrap us. The more I travel the globe and search for wisdom, the more I realize that suffering is a state of mind - and the ability to create a home within ourselves amongst constant change is the greatest gift. Reconnecting with Tofino and the West Coast a decade ago and living within this ever-changing environment taught me so much. The locals that welcomed me in gave me a deeper understanding of the connection they share with the land and ocean and how they use that energy to fuel their spiritual journeys. I was deeply inspired by one friend on Vargas Island who thrived alone in this small cabin for many years. It’s this return to simplicity and nature that has always been the best medicine for me since birth. This way of being leads me back to the campfire within, so I can soar high and free above the mists of uncertainty and beyond unhealthy patterns."
